Dr Kevin Frawley received his undergraduate degree in 1977 and his dental degree in 1982 from UCLA. After a one year residency, he established his private practice in cosmetic and implant dentistry in Beverly Hills, Calif., where he now works with his son and daughter. He also teaches at the UCLA School of Dentistry, passing on his knowledge to the dentists of tomorrow. Dr. Frawley is committed to the development of dentistry on all levels and is involved with both local and national dental associations. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association, where he currently serves as a trustee. For the past 30 years, he has been involved in implants and regenerative dentistry. He is part owner of Surgical Esthetics, a company focused on regenerative therapies, which was founded more than five years ago.
As dentists, we hear a lot about implants, sinus lifts and ridge grafting. Extraction socket preservation has not been given the attention it deserves. Unfortunately for our patients, most of us are not grafting extraction sites to preserve the alveolar bone. This presentation will help answer your questions about the socket grafting procedure, instruments to use and NEW grafting technologies. The goal of this program is to give each one of you the tools to be able to graft all your future extractions. The key is to get started! It is the right thing for your patients and it is good for your practice. After this meeting you will be able to start doing socket preservation in your office TOMORROW.
• use quadrant models w/ soft tissue
• practice on special suturing boards
• proper instruments for successful grafting
• place simulated graft material in a socket
• size and place simulated membranes
• various suturing techniques and their indications
Historically, general practitioners have referred their patients to specialists for implant placement. Minimizing these referrals can drastically improve practice health, and serve a broader demographic of patients. Attendees will learn the principles of successful implant placement, proper case selection, and how to manage complications. We will discuss proper osteotomy drilling protocols that are valid across all implant systems. Additionally, students will learn how to assess implant features and design, as well as proper sizing for various clinical indications. This course will get you started on your journey to successful implant placement and restoration.
• use full-arch mandibular models
• drill & motor usage and settings
• implant selection (size & design)
• proper drilling protocol
• drilling sequence for various bone types
• loading and/or closure principles
