DESCRIPTION:Summary:\nMT 7  Year 2 Curriculum \nSession 1: Thursday\, April 9th – Sunday\, April 12th\, 2026 \nSession 2: Thursday\, October 8th – Sunday\, October 11th\, 2026 \nLocation: Marriot Irvine Spectrum\n7905 Irvine Center Dr. Irvine\, Ca 92618 \nSESSION 1:  April 9 – 12\, 2026\nRemovable Prosthodontics                  \nThursday April 9th                                                                                    \nSpeaker:  Dr. Chris Minke       \nThis course will help participants meet the challenge of providing predictable complete and partial dentures in a timely manner. Diagnosis\, treatment planning\, simplified component selection and design considerations for complete and partials will be covered. Valuable tips and time saving techniques will be presented. \nFriday April 10th   \nSpeaker:  Dr. John DiPonziano  \nThis is an in-depth course\, which will illustrate implant prosthetic treatment planning as well as indications for the various restorative components and techniques available today. Topics will include impression taking for stud and bar over dentures as well as fixed-detachable prosthesis. Clinical tips and troubleshooting of common implant prosthetic problems and how to avoid them will also be reviewed.  Dr. DiPonziano is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry and a Certified Dental Technician. He maintains a private practice\, with the emphasis on comprehensive implant and restorative treatment in San Leandro. \nPresentations in Oral Diagnostics and Periodontics\nSaturday April 11th  \nSpeakers: Drs. Olsen & Dr. Kirk Hobock \nEach student will give a 10 to 12-minute Power Point presentation based on work done since the last session. This will be moderated by the previous speakers and the group will ask questions and make appropriate comments.  Presenters will receive 32 participation hours for Perio and 12 participation hours for Oral Diagnosis. \nOrthodontics\nSunday April 12th  \nSpeaker: Dr. Rob Veis  (Sponsored by Space Maintainers Laboratory) \n This course will cover the basic orthodontic knowledge needed to diagnose and make treatment decisions concerning growth and development problems in children. You should be able to treat patients who have problems with space maintenance\, crowding and cross-bites.  Adult minor tooth movement procedures including crowding and forced eruption of anterior teeth and up-righting of molars will be covered. Appliance design using both fixed and removable approaches and clinical exercises will be taught. Dr. Veis is the Clinical Director of Space Maintainers Laboratory. He is a prominent teacher-clinician of orthodontic applications in general practice. This six-hour lecture will give the participant with presentation\, twelve hours of credit in Orthodontics. \nSESSION 2: October 8 – 11\, 2026\nEsthetics\nThursday & Friday October 8th and 9th \nSpeaker: Dr. Todd Snyder            \nThis two-day lecture/hands on workshop will start with the latest materials and advances in esthetic dentistry. The first day will include the ten principles of smile design and indirect posterior inlay/onlays and when each is appropriate. Tetracycline staining\, crooked teeth and diastema closure will be discussed. A quick and easy way to provisionalise 8-10 units in 15 minutes will be shown.  On the second day clinicians will place direct composites\, prepare\, and fabricate provisionals for inlay/onlays\, veneers and all ceramic crowns. Dr. Snyder graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry and the F.A.C.E. institute. He created/co-directed the first ever two-year graduate program in Aesthetic & Cosmetic Dentistry.   The 77th Accredited Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry\, a Diplomat of the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry\, and a member of Catapult Education.  He is an international author\, lecturer\, and consultant to dental companies.  Dr Snyder owns a software company and an online dental training program www.Legion.Dentist. Dr Snyder is also a professional race car driver and entrepreneur.  He practices Cosmetic and Restorative dentistry in both Laguna Niguel\, CA and Las Vegas\, NV. \nPresentations in Removable Prosthetics & Ortho\nSaturday Oct. 10th  \nDrs. Presenters will receive 40 participation hours in Removable and 12 participation hours in Ortho. \nSpecial Patient Care\nSunday October 11th    \nSpeaker:  Dr. William Kushner        \nIn current concepts\, Special Patient Care encompasses the ability to provide Dental care to those with varying degrees of complex healthcare conditions. From Neurodevelopmental Disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)\, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD)\, other Intellectual Disabilities (ID) through common healthcare comorbidities like Cancer\, Hemophilia\, Diabetes\, Alzheimer’s\, Dementia\, blindness\, and advanced systemic disease. Many of these patients fall through the cracks in a normal healthcare delivery system as judged to be too difficult to manage and are often left to be forgotten about. Too often these patients have no alternative except for care under General Anesthesia at a great risk. This course will provide you an oversight of these conditions and care options for any practitioner to competently provide them care.
