SUMMARY:SDAGD: EASIER\, BETTER\, FASTER - Practical Endodontics for the General Dentist
DESCRIPTION:Summary:\nWhere: Crown Dental Group\n2405 Transportation Ave. National City\, CA 91950 \nSpeaker: Douglas Ness\, DDS\, MBA\, DABGD\, DABOI/ID \nLimited to 20 dentists to maximize hands-on instruction\, individual guidance\, and opportunities for questions. \nTuition: Breakfast and lunch are included with registration\nAGD Member: $695\nNon-Member: $895 \nCE: 7 (participation) \nAGD Subject Code: 070 (Endodontics) \nAttendees: Please bring your dental loupes and headlight (if needed). All instruments and supplies required for the hands-on exercises will also be provided \n \nCourse Description:\nApproach the case. Know what to do. Treat it with confidence.\nExcellent endodontics does not have to be slow\, complicated or intimidating. This course teaches general dentists how to apply the same fundamental principles that produce excellent endodontic outcomes while using a streamlined\, systematic clinical approach designed for everyday general practice. \nDeveloped and refined in a high-volume general dental practice where the clinical team now completes more than 250 root canal treatments each month\, Easier\, Better\, Faster teaches participants how to evaluate an endodontic case\, recognize its potential difficulties before treatment begins\, select the cases appropriate for their skill level\, and then approach treatment with a clear plan and confidence. \nThe goal is not simply to perform endodontics faster. Efficiency comes from knowing what to do next. Participants will learn a reproducible sequence for diagnosis\, anesthesia and isolation\, access\, canal location\, negotiation to the apical terminus\, working length determination\, glide path development\, cleaning and shaping\, irrigation\, and obturation. \nThe primary clinical objective is for participants to develop the skills and workflow necessary to complete an appropriately selected molar root canal treatment to a high clinical standard in a single visit within a one-hour appointment. \nThis is not simply a lecture course. Through focused instruction and hands-on participation\, attendees will practice the techniques themselves and learn how the individual steps fit together into an efficient\, predictable clinical system they can take back to their practices and use with confidence. The program is also planned to include a live-patient molar root canal demonstration showing the complete appointment workflow. \n  \nCourse Objectives:\n\nDevelop greater confidence in diagnosing pulpal and periapical disease and determining the need for root canal treatment.\nEvaluate case difficulty and select appropriate endodontic cases to treat while recognizing cases that should be referred.\nApply effective anesthesia and isolation techniques for predictable endodontic treatment.\nCreate efficient access preparations\, identify chamber anatomy\, and locate canal orifices with confidence.\nNegotiate canals to the apical terminus\, determine working length\, and establish a reproducible glide path.\nClean and shape the root canal system using a streamlined\, efficient\, and economical instrumentation protocol.\nUse irrigation and obturation protocols designed to support predictable clinical outcomes.\nIntegrate the complete workflow to efficiently complete an appropriately selected molar root canal treatment in a single one-hour appointment.\n\n  \nAbout the Speaker:\nDouglas Ness\, DDS\, MBA\, DABGD\, DABOI/ID has practiced general dentistry for more than 35 years\, with a career spanning private and group practice in Alaska and California\, as well as clinical practice and dental education in mainland China and other international locations. He received his DDS from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry\, completed a General Practice Residency at Emory University/Atlanta VA Medical Center\, and later earned an MBA from California Lutheran University. He is a Diplomate of both the American Board of General Dentistry and the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry. \nDr. Ness is the owner of Crown Dental Group in National City\, California\, a high-volume multispecialty general dental practice serving patients throughout San Diego County. Endodontics is an integral part of the practice\, where Dr. Ness and his clinical team now complete more than 250 root canal treatments each month. Over decades of clinical practice\, he has developed and refined a systematic approach to endodontic treatment based on sound endodontic principles\, careful case selection\, efficient clinical technique\, and a reproducible treatment sequence. \nDr. Ness has taught continuing education courses in endodontics\, restorative dentistry\, and orthodontics in mainland China and other international locations. He has completed more than 3\,500 hours of continuing dental education and is a Past President of the San Diego Academy of General Dentistry. His goal in teaching Easier\, Better\, Faster is to share a practical\, proven system that helps general dentists approach appropriately selected endodontic cases with greater confidence\, efficiency\, and predictability. \n  \nRefund and Cancellation Policy:\n\nRegistrations are subject to a $75 non-refundable processing fee.\nCancellations made by email prior to October 20\, 2026 will receive a refund less the $75 processing fee.\nCancellations made after October 20\, 2026 are completely non-refundable.\n\n  \nRegistration:\n  \nTo register please use PayPal link: \nRegister Here\n  \nIN ADDITION to PayPal registration\, please select ticket below and fill out information for FOOD PREFERENCES.

SUMMARY:Dental Botox: Principles and Hands-on Injection Training--Sacramento
DESCRIPTION:This is a photo of a recent attendee injecting her patient under Dr. Langenbach’s\nguidance. You will inject your patient and get hands-on injection experience to add\nBotox®/BoNT therapy to your dental toolbox. \n  \nActual course evaluation from April 2025 workshop: \n“I have taken many courses in the last 2-3 years for facial esthetics. I never felt I received a firm grasp on how to fully offer Botox until I attended Dr. Langenbach’s course today! Dr. Langenbach was very thorough\, engaging\, took the time to explain answers clearly\, and had a great sense of humor! I’m grateful that he spent time meticulously demonstrating how to reconstitute Botox\, rather than just telling the attendees to “look it up”. As I am meticulous with everything I do\, I appreciate that Dr. Langenbach shares the same values\, which ultimately translates to excellent care for our patients!” \n  \nSummary\n  \nWhere: The Officer’s Club\n3410 Westover Street\, Sacramento (McClellan)\, CA 95652 \nWhen: 9:30am to 2:30pm\n(Registration opens at 9:00am) \nSpeaker: Dr. Juergen Langenbach \nCE: 8 participation CE\nAGD Subject Code: 200-orofacial pain \n** A unique opportunity to earn 8 hours of CE through convenient coursework!\n3 CE webinar and post-exam completion required virtually within 10 days of in-person participation. \nThe course is set up in 2 parts: \n\n3 CE (didactic self-instruction webinar) Lecture and post-exam completion required virtually within 10 days of in-person participation.\n5 CE hands-on workshop\n\nTuition: New options for a guided refresher for returning students\, see below**\nAGD Members: $1250\nNon-AGD Member: $1750 \nGuided refresher for past attendees to bring a patient to inject (12:30 to 2:30pm):\nAGD dentists: $300\nNon-AGD dentists: $500 \n  \nCourse Description:\nBotox®/BoNT continues to be one of the most rapidly growing markets in the medical field\, with a compound annual growth rate of 12.4% globally (1). Don’t miss out on this amazing and unique course opportunity to add Botox®/BoNT to your complete health treatment approach! \nBotox®/BoNT is most commonly known for its uses in esthetic treatments to soften frown lines and wrinkles. However\, many are unaware of its use in the medical and dental fields. Strabismus\, hyperhidrosis\, and migraine prevention are just a few of the FDA-approved botulinum toxin uses. Off-label uses of Botox®/BoNT have been rapidly evolving\, providing relief where conventional treatment modalities have failed to relieve symptoms. While masseter indication is close to approval\, many off-label indications for dental patients are successful including treatment for bruxism\, gummy smile\, lip lines\, and temporomandibular joint and facial pain. \nDentists are experts in facial anatomy and are very familiar with the anatomy of the bones and muscles of the head and neck. Administration of Botox®/BoNT in the dental office is considered safe and predictable once the clinician has undergone didactic quality education.\nNumerous patients will accept and benefit from this treatment provided in the safety and comfort of your practice environment. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to grow your practice! \nThis exciting course is set up in two stages: 1) anatomy and protocol lecture and injection demonstration via webinar\, followed by an interactive participation course that includes 2) lecture content review\, documentation and billing\, reconstitution and injection techniques and hands on instructor guided patient injection. This workshop will introduce you to Botox®/BoNT as one of the most researched medical toxins and it will educate you in the many uses of Botox®/BoNT and in dentistry. It will provide you with a review of important head and neck anatomical structures. The participant will learn how to perform a complete history\, anamnesis and examination for dental patients. Basic injection techniques for myofascial pain\, esthetic treatments for Botox®/BoNT\, and trigger point injections will be explained and practiced. \n  \n  \nObjectives for the workshop:\n\nLearn pharmacology\, diagnosis\, treatment planning and documentation\, and the basics for beginner administration of Botox®/BoNT and other injectables.\nUnderstand the need for a didactically sound approach to education in Botox®/BoTN and trigger point injections for TMD\, myofascial pain\, and facial esthetic therapy.\nUnderstand how to implement safe treatment with Botox®/BoNT and other comparable injectables for your dental patients.\n\n  \n \n\n  \n  \n\n\nAbout the Speaker:\n  \nGerman-born cosmetic dentist\, Dr. Juergen Langenbach\, has provided his dental expertise to a myriad of patients in both Germany and the United States. While serving as a dentist in the German Army\, Dr. Langenbach met Dr. Lynne Thomas and they agreed that southern California was the place to be. Setting up their practice in Poway\, CA in 2003\, Dr. Langenbach has consistently offered top-tier cosmetic\, restorative\, preventative dentistry\, and sleep apnea treatments. Through his diligence and dedication to his patients\, Dr. Langenbach has continued to touch lives and transform mouths with his special care and superb treatments. SUMMARY:CAGD: Sedation Safety & Emergency Preparedness
DESCRIPTION:Summary:\nA Full-Day Course for Dentists and Dental Auxiliary Staff\nWhere: San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront\n1800 Old Bayshore Hwy\nBurlingame\, CA 94010 \nSpeaker: Dr. Gina Salatino \nTuition: \nAGD members: $199.00\nNon-AGD Member: $249.00 \nCE: 8 (Lecture) \nAGD Subject Code: 340 & 130 (Anesthesia & Pain Management/Electives) \nCourse Description: \n\nThis full-day course equips general dentists and their auxiliary staff with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely evaluate\, monitor\, and manage sedation patients in the dental office. Participants will review levels of sedation and associated risk\, examine real-world case patterns in sedation-related morbidity and mortality\, and gain hands-on familiarity with the monitoring tools most likely to catch a developing emergency before it becomes critical. The course places particular emphasis on building and rehearsing a functional in-office emergency response system — covering staff roles\, drug and equipment readiness\, and structured team communication during a code. Through case-based simulation and small-group drills\, attendees will leave with a concrete framework for strengthening sedation safety in their own practice. \n\nCourse Objectives:\n\nClassify patients by ASA physical status and identify airway risk factors relevant to sedation candidacy.\nDifferentiate between minimal\, moderate\, deep sedation\, and general anesthesia\, and describe the risk profile associated with each level.\nInterpret pulse oximetry\, capnography\, and auscultated heart/lung sounds to identify early signs of physiological compromise.\nRecognize common causes of monitoring failure in the dental office\, including alarm fatigue and inadequate baseline documentation.\nConstruct a written emergency management protocol that defines staff roles and response sequences.\nApply emergency algorithms to simulated scenarios\, including respiratory depression\, laryngospasm\, and allergic reaction.\nDemonstrate effective team communication and role delegation during the first 60 seconds of a sedation emergency.\nEvaluate office emergency drug kits and equipment for completeness\, expiration tracking\, and readiness.\nDesign and lead an in-office mock emergency drill for their own team.\nIdentify documentation practices that support both patient safety and legal defensibility in sedation cases.\n\n  \nAbout the Speaker:\nA graduate from the University of Nevada\, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine\, Dr. Gina Salatino has served the Rocklin\, California area as a general dentist since 2010. Gina was trained in moderate IV sedation while in dental school and for 6 years post graduate\, she trained roughly half of the nation’s dental sedation providers in moderate IV sedation. Today she owns and maintains a full-time general dental practice\, provides mobile moderate sedation services to dentists in the Northern California area\, performs sedation evaluations for the Dental Board of California and operates a dental assisting program for teaching radiation safety. In 2015 she published a pocket drug guidebook to help fellow sedation providers with quick\, easy\, and helpful guidance while selecting or administering sedative drugs for sedation. \nGina is passionate about education and received her Masters in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2026.  In 2011 she was awarded her fellowship in DOCs sedation program. \n\nRefund and Cancellation Policy:\n\nRegistrations are subject to a $75 non-refundable processing fee.\nCancellations made by email prior to 1/8/27 will receive a refund less the $75 processing fee.\nCancellations made after 1/8/27 are completely non-refundable.\nTransfer of a registration to another name will be considered by email request through 1/8/27.\nRegistration:\n\n\n
